Talent, Organization, Respect, Character, Hard Work
Alliance Academy, a new 6-8 middle school serving the east Oakland community, was previously served by Elmhurst Middle School. Our student body is approximately 41% African Americans, 54% Latinos, 2% Pacific Islander, 2% Asian, and 1% White. Our student body represents a wealth of wonderful experiences, backgrounds, traditions and values. Our California Standards Test scores have increased each year by an average of 16 points, and by continuing this momentum, we will soon reach our yearly API goals!
Our Commitment
In a collaborative effort with teachers, parents and community, Alliance Academy is committed to developing and maintaining a school culture that is dedicated to excellence. Alliance Academy will provide:
• A rigorous, standards-based education that prepares our students to confidently excel in high school and college and to be competitive in the world beyond
• A safe environment where students are able to develop academically and socially
• A quality staff that holds every student to high-level expectations while building positive relationships
• A culture where every student carries the Torch of Excellence: Talent, Organization, Respect, Positive Character and Hard work
• A community where parents, students and educators make decisions collectively for the future of our students.
Our Vision
Alliance Academy will empower all children to carry the TORCH of Excellence through commitment, community, compassion, and courage. Alliance Academy students will be provided with the necessary tools to reach their goals now and in the future as they become vital participants in the 21st Century.
