After-School Academic Interventions Collaborative
OSF supports schools’ efforts to develop results-driven after-school intervention programs in English Language Arts and Math. Nine schools participate in the collaborative, now in its fourth year, which is funded by The Wayne and Gladys Valley Foundation and other foundations.
OSF hosts quarterly meetings for the program leaders to share best practices and to check on their progress with a targeted group of students, the use of their data, and the program design and staffing. The schools benefit from tools and management and data strategies developed through the collaborative, regular monitoring to help them stay on track and get the results they have promised for their students, and peer supports and feedback. Through this project, the schools have targeted 350 students collectively for interventions each year, demonstrating significant academic results. In additional to numerous site-based interventionists and academic liaisons, OSF partners with Alternatives in Action, Oakland Leaf, and Aspiranet on this project.
