Business Entreprenuerial School of Technology (BEST) is housed on the McClymonds Educational Complex, formerly McClymonds High School. BEST is one of two new small autonomous interconnected high schools which opened on August 29, 2005. This school is a vital part of the West Oakland community which is experiencing a rebirth of businesses, families, and housing.
BEST is a school which addresses the needs of the whole child - academic, social, medical, and mental. The teacher/student ratio is an average of 1:25, and we provide myriad of positive intervention services. BEST students and faculty enjoy many school partnerships:

BEST Vision
BEST provides a rigorous education for all students, so they may be prepared to achieve their full potential, continue to be life long learners who are committed to the community, socially responsible and globally aware.
In order to prepare students for their future, the school’s central focus is on the development of a college going-culture that stimulates the intellect, spirit, imagination and creative expression, to enable each student to use his/her mind resourcefully, to think critically, and to be productive, self-reliant and responsible citizens of the world.
BEST Mission
The mission of BEST is for administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, and support staff to accept the responsibility of ensuring that each student has access to an equitable, but rigorous education that is driven by high standards, high expectations and quality-life experiences in a safe environment so they can be nurtured and realize their own academic excellence and growth.
Dedicated Staff
Our dedicated staff continues to reflect and improve ourselves through regular professional development so that we can best serve our students. We want to empower our students to have control over their lives by providing them with career information, and the ablility to develop a solid business plan based on entrepreneurial experiences. Through these experiences, our students will increase their critical thinking skills that will support their post-secondary academic and career goals.
