Small Schools Students Say YES to College

Students at Youth Empowerment School (YES) are applying for college in record numbers: This year 31 of 45 seniors (69 percent) are sending applications to four-year schools! "This is huge," says Principal Maureen Benson. "Historically, less than three percent [have been] eligible."
